How We Use Huel on Our Adventures
For us, Huel isn’t just something we talk about. It’s part of our everyday routine, both at home and when we’re out exploring.
Most mornings start with Daily Greens for Mum and Dad. It feels like we’re giving our bodies all the goodness they need before the day even begins. Then it’s time to pack up the hiking bags, load the car, and head off on an adventure. Some days it’s straight from the doorstep into the woods, other times we’re chasing waterfalls, climbing to a viewpoint, or finding a quiet trail where it’s just us and the sound of nature.
By lunchtime, Huel is always in our bag. Depending on the day, we usually go for one of three options.
Ready to drink Black Edition bottles 🥤 are perfect when we want something super quick and easy. Dad’s favourite is Chocolate Peanut while Mum’s is Cookies and Cream. Open, drink, done.
Hot and Savoury meal packs 🍲 are compact and adventure friendly. We both love the Pasta Bolognese. We usually cook them with our OEX stove and use our Water to Go filtration bottle to collect fresh water from a stream or beck. A quick boil, pour it in, and it’s a proper meal outdoors. There’s something special about sitting on a rock with steaming hot food, looking out at the hills. If you don’t carry a stove, a flask of hot water works just as well.
Hot and Savoury pots 🍜 are great when we want convenience with no extra kit. They come in their own pot so you just add boiling water. We recommend the Katsu Curry noodles. They are really good but do take up a bit more room in the rucksack.
Later in the day, when energy dips, we usually have a top up with one of Huel’s Daily A–Z energy drinks. They’re refreshing and it feels good knowing they’re packed with nutrients too.
For us, Huel has become part of the rhythm of exploring. It gives us the fuel we need so we can focus on what we love most: being outdoors together, discovering new trails, and enjoying the simple calm of nature.
